Welcome to the 10-10-10 Project!
A beautiful 160 page color book called “Photos of Life in New Rochelle: the 10-10-10 Project” is in final layout and editing. Seven chapters – Waterfront, South End, East End, Downtown, City Core, West End, and North End – contain colorful and honest photos of New Rochelle from October 10th, 2010. Bill Mullen wrote clever and interesting captions, and Mayor Bramson and City Historian Barbara Davis wrote short forwards. Our editor, Marion Endsley, has digitally created the book from mockups and is entering the last few edits.
Thank you to the forty 10-10-10 Project photographers who shared over 4,000 photos of New Rochelle. Thank you to the photo selection committee -- Jen Parente, Cristina Cerone, Charlene Goldberg, Valerie Gomez, and Anna Piliero -- for attending ten sessions of photo study. The late Valerie Gomez also served as marketing director for the project.
Thank you to those that helped edit photos including Charlene Goldberg, Bill Mullen and Anna Piliero. Thank you to those that have helped produce a cover including Deborah Haley, Jesse Sanchez and Marion Endsley. Thank you to those that have proofed and/or previewed the book so far including Lauren Pekats, Wendy Rose Sanchez, Bobby Sanchez, Anna Piliero, Joseph D’Erasmo, Bill Mullen, Charlene Goldberg, Dr. Perler, and others. Thank you to Mayor Bramson, Barbara Davis and Bill Mullen for the writing in the book.
Others helped in researching including Kathy Gilwit, Joyce Furfero, and others. Thank you to those who have helped get the project to where it is today, including Cynthia Lobo of the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and others who wish not to be named. Thank you to those who are helping from the business side, such as my husband and others, as we move to the next stages.
Now we are engaged in figuring out how to print the book. There are a few options we are considering. As we work out these issues, feel free to click on the photo to the right and enjoy the slideshow. Stay tuned for more progress.
Enjoy the slideshows!
